I’m excited to see the first two Latina women perform at tonight’s Super Bowl half-time show.The performance starring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira is co-produced by Shawn JAY-Z Carter, a partnership that was seemingly controversial after his vocal support of Colin Kapernick’s right to protest social injustices by taking a knee during the national anthem.
I’m happy to not only see the National Football League taking strides to improve their reputation and revamp its social injustice initiative, but am also encouraged by Jay-Z using his voice, talents, and influence to build bridges and spark the change we so desperately need.
