On Martin Luther King Day 2020, we are shining our light on one of Dr. King’s most famous writings. MLK’s words in his letter from a Birmingham jail could not continue to ring more true today.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial “outside agitator” idea. Anyone who lives inside the United States can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds.” #MartinLutherKing
As we enter the 2020 election cycle, we need to be mindful of the advice from Dr. King, and protect the rights of our most vulnerable by electing representatives who value equality for all and will work tirelessly to insure protections are in place to keep America moving forward.
This is how we can honor the wishes and legacy of Dr. King.
